Can The Velotric Discover 1 Climb Hills?

The Velotric Discover 1 is an ebike designed by an American company. This electric bike is new and seems to promise decent performance considering the price of just over $1,000. It is electric, it has a high-step edition, and it comes in various colors. It looks like a classical bike for cycling enthusiasts thanks to its 7 gears with electric assistance up to 900 watts, but there are many unknowns about this bike's performance.

The battery pack and motor weighs about 13lbs all together (power unit + battery). The weight of the Velotric Discover 1 could be a problem in terms of the battery that will be constantly depleting itself, and in terms of comfort when cycling uphill because power will decrease on inclines due to the medium level of torque. The ebike with power from the 500 watt motor is also suitable for different types of terrain. It can work on various terrains such as dirt, sand and grass, which is described in the user manual. However, it does not say that the bike is not to be ridden on sand or mud.

The original battery that is used to charge the power unit is of a high quality, but the bikes system with its sensors can be used only in good weather conditions and on mostly flat terrain according to Matt from TailHappyTV.

Velotric offers ebikes of different types such as road bikes, mountain bikes, and fat bikes. Velotric Discover 1 is an electric bike with good range, but with less weight than fat bikes. The criteria for choosing a hill to test this bike was is simple – it was available in Los Angeles, CA on the market and I determined that it was possible to test the bike in the parking garage. The test started by buying a Velotric Discover 1 500 watt ebike. The 65 NM of torque performed average relative to other electric bikes of similar power.

The bike can be ridden by men and women of various weight and height. You can learn more abut this electric bikes performance in the full Velotric Discover 1 review from TailHappyTV on YouTube.
