Most people use either 1 or 1.5 inches of tape. To cover baseboards with roller splatter, use one-inch tape -which is minimal if you use the correct paint and the proper roller cover. These will be covered in another blog.

Let's first look at all of the options available.

1. Standard white masking tape.

2. Blue Masking Tape

Frog tape – Frog tape can also be used when you need a tight seal. This means that there is no paint underneath, and you have a straight line. As long as you apply it correctly.

How to apply masking tape correctly so that paint doesn't get underneath it.

1. Use a dry rag to clean your entire surface (e.g. the top of your baseboard).

2. Take off the tape in 2 to 3 feet sections.

3. Once you are satisfied with the line that you have created, hold the tape at both ends. You can even search online for more information about masking tape.
