Proper Maintenance of Your HVAC System in New Jersey

The most important thing you can do to keep your heating and cooling system working properly is the regular maintenance it needs. Routine maintenance of the HVAC system is necessary in order to operate at the most efficient level and have a long service life.

The most common — and most important — HVAC maintenance you can do yourself is to replace the furnace filter regularly. This air filter is easy to replace and ensures clean airflow through the stove or air conditioning system. You can also opt for HVAC system design services in New Jersey.

Furnace filters prevent dust, dirt, and debris from passing through the furnace and back into your home. Filters are available at every hardware store, supermarket, and department store.

Depending on the brand, these filters last up to three months. However, in my experience, it makes more sense to buy a less expensive air filter and replace it every thirty days. More expensive air filters block airflow, while cheaper filters block dust and debris while allowing for more consistent airflow.

These are two simple tasks you can do yourself to keep your HVAC system running at peak efficiency. However, there are other procedures that can be performed to extend the life of your HVAC equipment, but only a professional HVAC service technician should do it.

If you properly maintain your furnace by changing furnace filters regularly and vacuuming the fan impellers and hiring an HVAC service technician to inspect your unit annually, your HVAC system will operate at peak energy efficiency for years to come.
